HID Dredger Shipyard Engineer: Redefining Dredging Equipment, Technical Edge Leading a New Wave of Chinese

At a pivotal moment when global dredging projects are moving towards deepwater, intelligence, and sustainability,HID Shipyard has today officially revealed the core technology strategy for its dredger segment. As one of the few domestic manufacturers to master a 'full-chain intelligent dredging solution', HID Shipyard announced that its latest generation of smart dredgers now covers the full lifecycle from design to construction to operation withdigital twins, and has broken through foreign technology barriers with several proprietary processes, redefining the efficiency and precision standards of Chinese-made dredgers.
Walking into HID's dedicated dredger manufacturing workshop, unlike the rough-and-ready appearance of
traditional shipyards, a fully automated intelligent welding line is performing laser-tracking welding on high-
strength wear-resistant steel plate seams. For the dredger's key components, the mud pump impellers and cutter
heads, HID has introduced a five-axis CNC machining centre, combined with its self-developed gradient hardness surfacing process, extending the wear life of vulnerable parts by 2000 hours over the industry average, greatly reducing the frequency of spare part replacements for shipowners during offshore operations.
Even more noteworthy for the industry is HID's innovative 'modular compartment construction method'.
By constructing the power module, dredging module, and living module in parallel and merging them in the final assembly, HID has reduced the shipyard cycle for ultra-large dredgers by 25%, and achieved a first-time pass rate of 98.6% for all ship piping interfaces, effectively solving the historical problem of aligning the shaft system
caused by welding stress deformations.
